Where history, hospitality, and nature come together.

The story of

The Nest at Grey Farms

Built in the 1890s, this farmhouse has stood as a witness to generations of Southern life. Thanks to vision and care of the new owners, the home has been restored to its original floor plan and recognized on the National Register of Historic Places.

We’ve preserved details like the original windows and rough-cut pine shiplap while adding touches that make the home warm and welcoming today. The Nest is more than a renovation — it’s a living story of history restored and hospitality renewed.

The Nest is more than an historic farmhouse — it’s a way to rediscover simplicity and belonging.
— April Renard, Owner

Living in Concert with the Land

The Grey Nest is guided by a philosophy of hospitality and sustainability. Here, life is lived in rhythm with the land:

  • Fresh eggs gathered from our hens.

  • Pecans harvested from the trees and shared around a fire.

  • Produce from the garden, offered in the Tea Room.

  • A commitment to reusable practices, composting, and minimizing waste.

Guests are invited not only to stay, but to experience a simpler way of life — one that leaves the land better than we found it.
